He was predeceased by: his parents, Edna Belle (Reynolds) and Orville Long. He is survived by: his wife Jane Tillie; his daughters, Janna Phelps (Scott), Jeri Bowman (Guy) and Dawn Webb (Brian); his grandchildren, Nick Phelps (Kayla), Ryan Bowman (Alysen), Corey Webb, Hannah Bowman Johnson (Trevor), Sam Phelps (Ashley), Kyle Webb, Zach Bowman (Alyssa), Kathryn Webb Swenson (Alex) and Christian Webb; and his great grandchildren, Ava Phelps, Emma Phelps, Wyatt Roach-Bowman, Graham Bowman, Hadley Bowman, Oliver Phelps, Adalyn Bowman and Cayde Phelps.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Fort Custer National Cemetery (15501 W Dickman Rd, Augusta, MI 49012). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Book Hotel Avink, McCowen & Secord Funeral Home and Cremation (5975 Lovers Ln, Portage, MI 49002).
