She was predeceased by : her parents, Kenneth Earl and Frances Mary Newell (Fowler); her brother Robert Newell; her daughter Carol Cooper; and her stepson Jack Jr. Jacobowitz (Roberta).
She is survived by : her former life partner Dr. John M. Jacobowitz of Three Rivers; her sons, Stephen Smallcombe (Rosemarie) and David Smallcombe (Kimberly Ginn); her stepsons, Bret Jacobowitz (Laura) and Kurt Jacobowitz-Cain (Paul); her grandchildren, Christy Anne O'Ceallagh (Tom), Shannon Bommarito (Justin), Megan Gunter (Brad), Matthew Smallcombe (Kelly), Nathaniel Smallcombe (Karen), Sarah Meyers (Jeremy), Abigail Gasper (Adam), Arianna Houser (Greg), Jennifer Koski and Michael Farkas (Shannon); and her stepgranddaughters, Jennifer Campo (Mark), Elizabeth Jacobowitz and Mary Wilcox (Donnie). She is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the First Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo, the WMU School of Education, SPCA or the charity of your choice.
