We announce the death of Janice Elaine Smith of Portland, Michigan, who passed away on September 22, 2026, at the age of 83. Janice will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Everett Kenyon and Thelma Kenyon (Anderson); and her daughter-in-law Missy Nurenberg. She is survived by: her sons, Mike Nurenberg (Barb) of Portland, Bill Nurenberg (Elizabeth) of Portland, Jim Nurenburg (Sue) of Lyons and Rob Nurenberg of Orleans; her grandchildren, Justin Nurenberg (Sierra), Brock Nurenberg, Derek Nurenberg, Amanda Yeomans (John), Danielle Jorae (Ben), Megan Nurenberg and Aliesha Nurenberg; her great grandchildren, Easton, Denali and Rylan; and her siblings, Howard Kenyon (Dee), Don Kenyon (Betty), Diane Courter (Tim) and Tony Kenyon.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Lake Funeral Home (3521 S State Rd, Ionia, MI 48846).
