He was predeceased by: his wife Ellen Mary (Platte); his parents, Norwood and Cecilia (Ziegler); his brother Larry; his sister-in-law Loretta; and his in-laws, Kathleen Miller (Herman), Bernice Esch (Joe), Rose Marie Gensterblum (Herman), Beatrice Platte, Jerry Platte, Edward Platte (Shirley), Delbert Platte (Marguerite) and Armon Platte.
He is survived by: his children, Monica Johnson (Daniel) and Greg Bailey; his sister Norrine Bailey; and his in-laws, Joann Koenigsknecht, Ann Thelen (Paul), Bernard Platte (Sharon), Charlotte Platte and Joane Platte. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
