He was predeceased by : his parents, Clifton Sayers and Eldena Sayers (Utter); his son Tom Sayers; and his brothers, Floyd Sayers and Russell Sayers.

He is survived by : his wife Phyllis Sayers; his children, Jim Sayers, John Sayers (Penny) and Diane Sayers (Wes Listerman); and his sister Marilyn Strickling. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
