He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold and Lillian; his siblings, Virginia Cota, Annette Lukowski (Cliff) and Joseph Cotey (Linda); his grandson Courtney; his in-laws, Theodore and Jaunita Lehnen; and his sister-in-law Judy Cotey.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Cotey of Rapid River; his children, Julie Adams (Bryan), Clayton Cotey, Jr. (Stacy), Steven Cotey, Christine Rathje (Greg) and Stuart Cotey (Katie); his grandchildren, Tamara, Douglas, Lillian, Madelyn and Nathan; his great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jake; his brothers, John, Richard and Ken Cotey (Cheri); and his brother-in-law Theodore Lehnen (Monica). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
