He is survived by: his wife Connie; his children, Matthew Rian (Jen Noel) of Escanaba, Rebecca Rian of Gwinn, Lisa Kirt (Andy) of Green Bay, WI and Brian Helgemo (Kelli) of Bark River; his grandchildren, Carson, Chase Helgemo, Wyatt, Sophie Kirt, Hadley and Daxton Rian; his brothers, John Rian (Jodi) of Wells, Jim Rian (Lori) of Escanaba and Tom Rian (Lisa) of Pine Ridge; his mother-in-law Joyce Mattson of Gladstone; and his siblings-in-law, Tina Schrader (Mark) of Thompson, Mike Mattson (Marty) of Alva, FL and Paul Mattson (Cathy Jo) of Fernandina Beach, FL. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home (2200 Ludington St, Escanaba, MI 49829). A celebration of life was held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the same location.
