He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Benkert and Doris Benkert (Hendricks); his wife Judy Anderson; and his siblings, Jerry Benkert and Deb Benkert.
He is survived by: his children, April Scheidel (Kirk) and Brian Benkert; and his siblings, Doug Benkert (Carolyn), Lynette Gavin (Jerry), Barb Syrek (Dan), Patrick Benkert (Sandy), Ed Benkert (Wayne) and Craig Benkert (Heather). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
