He was predeceased by : his parents, William Burrough Sr. and Helen Frances Gritzinger (Vanker); his grandson William Brian Smith; and his siblings, Pauline, Elaine, Robert and Ronny.

He is survived by : his wife Icie; his children, Richard Gritzinger (Julie Safford) of Shelby Twp, Kenneth Gritzinger (Delene) of Imlay City and Darlene Smith (Brian) of Almont; his grandchildren, Marlina Heemsoth (Dan), Ronald Gritzinger, Christopher Gritzinger, Gary Gritzinger (Sarah), Mark Gritzinger (Jenelle), Aaron Gritzinger, Holly McConnell (Christopher) and Kathryn Roumaya (Christopher); his great grandchildren, Cody, Liam, Mason, Maxwell, Chase, Aubree, Brantlee, Alizah, Marlee, William, Gabriel and Paisley; and his sisters, Joann Thompson of St. Louis and Linda Liechty of Ann Arbor.
