He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Hartley and Myrtle Hartley; and his siblings, Thomas, Donald, Patricia and Geraldine.

He is survived by: his wife Gloria; his children, Robert "Alan" (Mary), Deborah (Raymond), Teri (John) and Kenneth; his grandchildren, April (Jessica), Hillary, Patricia and Joseph; his great grandchildren, Serenity and Ryan; and his brother William "Bill". He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
