He is survived by: his wife Patricia DeBusscher; his sons, Steve Defever (Karen), Kevin Defever (Delphine), Brian Defever, Daniel Defever and David Defever (Tonya); his brothers, James Defever and Frank Defever (Rosemary); and his grandchildren, Brienne' Cates (Joey), Stephanie Gillam (Michael), Dakota Defever (Stephanie), Andrew Defever (Jillaine), David Defever (Hannah), Jordan Defever (Alexandra), Brittney Schwarck (Matthew), Kalynne Connolly (David), Tyler Canfield (Alexis), Connor Defever, Derrick Defever (Natalie), Melanie Toro (Joseph), Grace Defever, Emily Hamann, Aaron Hamann, Mitchell Hamann and Maggie Hamann. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Michael's Catholic Church (8929 50th Ave, Remus, MI 49340).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be directed to St. Michael School in Remus, Michigan, or God's Helping Hands in honor of Dennis.
