With sadness, we share the passing of Marie Olien (Republic, Michigan). Marie, born on October 22, 1933, passed away on September 5, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James LaBeau and Josephine LaBeau; her former husband Robert Bengtson; her husband Douglas Olien; her fiancé James Mackey; and her siblings, Ellsworth LaBeau, Lois Beaupied, Alice Haapala and Marion Salson.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Bengtson (Debra), Debbie Gardner (Ralph), Rod Bengtson (Linda) and Robin Jarvi (Jon); her grandchildren, Nikki Couveau (Randy), Angie Hytinen (Jim), Jeri Ballent (Kevin), Matthew Bengtson (Tessa), Laura Bengtson, Nathan Jarvi (Jordan), Andrew Jarvi, Julianne Knox (Mitchell), Olivia Jarvi and Sophia Jarvi; her great grandchildren, Anthony, Alyssa Couveau, Anna, Emily Hytinen, Harper Ballent, Emma, Sadie Bengtson, Addison, Jackson, Emerson and Graceson Jarvi; her grandchildren, Theo, Hudson Knox and Jorja Conner; and her sister-in-law Gina Oakeson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Augustine Catholic Church (574 Kloman Ave, Republic, MI 49879). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marie's memory may be directed to the Marquette County Medical Care Facility bingo fund, St. Augustine Catholic Church, or Bethany Lutheran Church in Republic.
