He is survived by: his mother Sallyann J. Parkkonen (Kaeseman); his son James Parkkonen MD; his daughter-in-law Suzy Zurecka MD; his daughter Kelsey; his son-in-law Daniel Simpson; his grandchildren, Everett Owen Simpson and Emilia Blake Simpson; his siblings, Gary Parkkonen (Karen), Susan Bystrom, Byron Parkkonen (Barbara) and Linda Hosking (Barry); and his friend Tracy Ewald. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
