She was predeceased by : her husband Clyde William Mitchell. She is survived by : her children, Debbie Schenk, Barry Mitchell, Cheryl Moore (John), Claudine Nast (Jon) and Carsten Mitchell (Molly); her grandchildren, Harly Schenk, Colton Moore and Jane Nast; her great grandchild Alyssa Schenk; and her siblings, Henri Brenton (Peggy) and Diane Zygmontowicz (Todd).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ivy's memory to the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel (MARSP) Endowment Fund (http://www.marsp.org).

“Ivy Marie was very special to us; she introduced us at Oakland University. She stood up for us at our wedding 56 years ago. We 3 lived in Rochester after college and did lots together. When our daughter was born, Ivy was one of the few people Anne bonded with. Ivy supported us through the deaths of 99% of both our families in the 1980's and was with us at the memorial of our sister in 2016. One of our best vacations was going to Ivy's cottage near Grayling in 2017 with her. Jim & Shirley Zanoni”
