He was predeceased by : his father Harold Palaian; and his sister Joy Karakshian. He is survived by : his mother Elsie Palaian (Shuklian); his wife Pamela Willits (Armenian Church); his children, Kevin Palaian (Ruth) and Lisa Buyan (Derek); his grandchildren, Kali and Jimi; his sister Melanie Godoshian (John); his brother-in-law Jack Karakshian; and his uncle Arthur Palaian (Joann). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nick's honor to Forgotten Harvest or St. John's Armenian Church.
