He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Hunstad and Eva Hunstad (Belland); his wife Freda Hunstad; and his granddaughter Emma C. Hunstad. He is survived by: his children, Dr. Joseph Hunstad (Sherry), Mary Angelini and Dr. David Hunstad (Karen); and his grandchildren, Lauren Connors (Michael), Megan Hunstad, Alex Hunstad (Katie), Erik Hunstad (Catherine), Hanna Hunstad, Dan Angelini (Sarah), Paul Angelini, Mark Angelini (Allison) and Sarah Angelini. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Norman's honor to the existing Norman A. Hunstad Engineering Scholarship fund at the University of Iowa.
