He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Spiess and Lorraine Spiess (Poppeck); his wife Gail; and his stepgrandson Landon Mabry. He is survived by: his parent-in-law Gail Nichols; his family Royal Oak; his children, Mark (Callie), Lynne (Mike Dancik) and Laura Mulligan (Mike); his grandchildren, Jessica (Nick), Rachel, Katelynn, Michael and Holly; and his siblings, Bill (Karen) and Kathy Neal.
Memorial donations may be made in Richard's name to Our Shepherd Lutheran Church or Rochester Rotary Club.
