Gary James Szostak, born on April 24, 1953 in Highland Park, Michigan, passed away on September 23, 2026. Gary leaves behind family members and others who acknowledge this loss. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his children, Jillian Leimback (Justin) and Doug Szostak; the mother of his children Janice; his grandchildren, Hudson, Charlotte and Adalynn; his sisters, Diane and Kathleen (Timothy); and his nieces and nephews, Timothy Jr., Christopher, Paul, Dana and Lisa. He is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Pixley Funeral Home (322 W University Dr, Rochester, MI 48307). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gary's honor may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
