She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Gary Schirs; her pet Benson; and her parents, Graham Grant and Margie Johnson. She is survived by: her daughters, Heidi Weaver (Timothy) and Robin Schirs; her grandchildren, Austin Johnson (Mikaela), Lance Johnson (Dani), Alaina Parmely (Brian), Lillian Antonelli and Jonathan Antonelli; and her pets, Marney, Augie, Jameson, Sam, Charlie and Romeo.
In honor of Gay Schirs and her lifelong love and compassion for dogs, the family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be sent to Michigan Doodle Rescue Connect.
