He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Charter; his wife Susan Charter; his brother Charles "Chuck" Charter; and his nephew Kevin Emmendorfer. He is survived by: his mother Charlotte Charter; his children, Dustin Cook, Jessica Burgess (Mark) and Erin Brechtelsbauer Cook; his grandsons, Landon, Daniel and John; his siblings, Jerry Charter (Jan), Jackie Emmendorfer (Mike), Joseph Charter (Ann Fielder), Karin Allen (Donnie Eashoo), Cindy Edwards (Chuck), Joseph Lawton, Patty Lawton and Ruth Ann Sagers; and his friend Ray Felice (Joyce). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
