It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carlyle H. Hager of Rockford, Michigan, born in Pontiac, Michigan, who passed away on June 24, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Carl Hager and Eleanor Hager (Johnson). He is survived by : his wife Arlene; his children, Cheryl Herbert (Tim), Glenda Smith (Brian) and Paul Hager (Tammy); his grandchildren, Tyler Herbert (Sarah), Jordan Herbert (Rachael), Seth Herbert, Rachel Smith, Jonathan Smith (Zoey), Hannah Smith, Mikaela Abdoo (Justin), Jordan Nielsen (Ellie), Trevor, Emma, Justine, Trent and Elise Hager; and his brothers, Jack Hager (Bernie) and Lauren Hager (Carol). He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cedar Springs Baptist Church, 4H or FFA.

David Spring wrote a sympathy message

“Carlyle had so many neat stories. We briefly knew each other in 2015 when I helped stop a scammer from taking advantage of him. We lost touch after I helped him move into a proper care facility here in Reno. But so many stories! Not just The War, but about teaching dancing and his wife and the wonderful friends he had. He was a good man. The brief time we spent together as fellow veterans (of different generational wars) in a tough spot changed me forever. I am fortunate to have known him.”
