He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter LeynDyke and Nellie VanOeveren LeynDyke; his wife Elizabeth Lorraine Corcoran Leyndyke; his brother John Leyndyke; his sister-in-law Katherine; and his sister Betty Clark (Walter).
He is survived by: his children, Kirk Leyndyke (Brenda) of Kalamazoo, Karen Thon (Curtis) of Prescott Valley, Arizona, James A. Leyndyke (Ann) of Holland, Michigan and Joanne Werkema (Michael) of Rockford, Michigan.; and his grandchildren, Melissa Kurth (Kevin), Stephen Werkema, Amy Thon, Jamie Luther (David), Kirsten Agnello-Dean (Chase), Paul Werkema, Trevor Thon, Matthew Leyndyke (Jenna) and Travis Leyndyke (Alayna). He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Fort Custer National Cemetery (15501 W Dickman Rd, Augusta, MI 49012).
