John Detz Jr. Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Detz Jr. of Rockford, Michigan, who passed away on July 21, 2025, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edward and Anna (Preshlock). He is survived by: his siblings, Linda Detz, Edward Detz (Sharron) and Walter Detz (Catherine); his nieces, Anna and Elizabeth; and his great-nephew Alex Detz (Leslie Murphy).
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A rosary will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 8:30 PM at the East Mortuary (937 Michigan St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Isidore Church (628 Diamond Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503).
Memorial contributions to Faith Hospice and MECA Angels or a charity of one's choice will be appreciated.
