She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Glerum and Helene Glerum; and her sister Joan VanDenAkker. She is survived by: her husband David Karsies; her children, Michael Karsies (Danielle), Aaron Karsies (Jessica) and Kristy Welch (Justin); her grandchildren, Madalynn, Katelynn, Nolan Karsies, Alexander, Grant, Bryce Karsies, Evelyn and Parker Welch; her siblings, John Glerum (Diane), Roger Glerum, Jim Glerum (Diane) and Sue White; and her brother-in-law Joe VanDenAkker. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the West Cannon Baptist Church (5760 Cannonsburg Rd NE, Belmont, MI 49306).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Julie's memory may be made to West Cannon Baptist Church Building Fund.
