Lawrence Dale Matthysse Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lawrence Dale Matthysse of Rockford, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 8, 2026 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Marinus Matthysse and Audrey Matthysse (Albright); his brother William; and his siblings-in-law, David Groothuis and Mary Matthysse.
He is survived by: his wife Ardith DeVries; his children, Laura Barscewski (Ted), Larry Matthysse (Sonya), Ken Matthysse (Debra), Janine Warfield (Seth) and Jennifer Wooten (Randy); his grandchildren, Shelly (David), Chris (Kelly), Mike (Kari), Jamie (Ryan), Amanda (Brett), Nick (Samantha), Anthony, Amber (Andrew), Brandon, Holly (Chad), Adam, Michelle (Jeffrey), Maryanne, Ariana (Austin), Lauren, Erin, Ryan, Ethan (Nina) and Collin; and his siblings, Donald, Allan (Loretta), Lester (Maxine), Sandra Groothuis and Linda Kuhn (Fred). He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
