He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Stein and Anna Stein (Roberts); his spouse Johann Lewis Stein; his siblings, Robert, Rolland, Rita McKenzie and Regina Stein; and his granddaughter Megan Stein.

He is survived by: his children, David K. (Jill), Dennis L. (Diana), Dale T. (Pam) and Donna M. Scheffer (Robert); and his brother Leon (Betty). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
