With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Genora Shelby (Romulus, Michigan), born in Florence, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 2, 2025 at the age of 100. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Williams and Virginia Williams (Walker); her son Kermit Shelby, Jr.; and her siblings, Kermit Shelby, Sr., Hattie Butler, Thomas Williams, Jr., Daisy Lou Rankin and James Williams.
She is survived by: her husband Kermit Shelby Sr.; her children, Donald Shelby (Clarita), Craig Shelby (Sherene), Virginia Moss (Lucian) and Tammie Glass (Frederick); and her grandchildren, Wendie Cox (Michael), Sean Alicea (Tamika), Kimberly Shelby-Szyszyko (Zachary), Kristopher Shelby, Kourtney Shelby, Lisa (Marzett), Shawn Shelby (Heather), Erica Johnson (Kristian), Rebecca Shelby, Brandon Moss (Sheena), Joshua Moss (Tamesha), Alexander Shelby, Nicholas Shelby and Jasmin Glass. She is also survived by eighteen great grandchildren.
