He was predeceased by : his parents, Harold Moffitt and Frances Moffitt (Chmura); his son James Moffitt Jr.; his daughter-in-law Mary Ellen Moffitt; and his siblings, Jack and Patricia.
He is survived by : his wife Nancy Moffitt of Roscommon; his children, Kathleen Moffitt of Maryland, Julie Laforge of Utica, Daniel Moffitt of Grosse Pointe, Mark Moffitt (Pamela) of St. Clair Shores and Mary Moe of Marquette; and his brother David Moffitt (Mary) of Nevada. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
