Joan D. Somes Obituary
Joan Somes fell asleep in death on April 11, 2026 at the age of 90. She was born to Montague and Marguerite Wehring on March 2, 1936 in Sarnia Ontario. Formally of Plymouth Michigan & moved to the Roscommon area in 1994. She Married John Somes, (who survives) on July 4th 1953 and in 2025 they celebrated 72 years of love, laughter and some tears, always there to support each other while raising 4 children.
Joan started raising kids when she was just a kid herself, but she clearly knew what she was doing as she was the best mom! She is survived by her 3 daughters, Debbie (Mike), Pam, & Sandy (Bruce).
Joan was a woman of strong faith, confident in a resurrection on a paradise earth. She was a loyal servant of Jehovah God for 67 years having been baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1959. Her fine example was encouraging not only to her family but to many friends and acquaintances along the way. She will be remembered for her kindness, hospitality & her sharp sense of humor.
Joan was pre-deceased by her parents, her 3 sisters and 2 brothers & her son Ken in 1990. Her Family finds comfort in knowing she is in Gods memory.

Memorial: 1pm May 9th at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 450 N. Roscommon Rd, Roscommon Michigan. Perry Stafford Officiating.
