He was predeceased by: his parents, George Nowak and Lenore Nowak (Bruce); and his siblings, Leonard and Janice. He is survived by: his wife Janice; his children, Troy Nowak of Cleveland and Carla Peters (David) of Portland, Oregon; and his grandchild Nixie. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
