Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Shirley Mae Place of Roscommon, Michigan, born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, who passed away at the age of 91, on January 29, 2023. She was predeceased by : her parents, Jacob McDonald and Edna McDonald (Thompson); her husband Clifford Place; her son Samuel Tjalsma; and her granddaughter Rebecca Griffin.

She is survived by : her daughter Patricia Griffin (Randy) of Roscommon; her grandchildren, Ryan and Keriann; her daughter Mary Edmunds (Stan) of Alpena; her grandchildren, Nicholas, Michelle, Elizabeth, Melissa, Sammy, Audrey and David; her daughter Margaret Reiner (Carl) of Buchanan; her grandchild Madison; her daughter Barbara Ronning (Rob) of Charlotte; and her grandson Bradley. She is also survived by great-grandchildren.

The family prefers memorial contributions be made in Shirley's name to Munson Healthcare Crawford Continuing Care Center, 1100 East Michigan Avenue, Grayling, Michigan 49738.
