He was predeceased by: his parents, Garnet Ward and Geraldine Allen (Maul); and his sisters, Cheryl Ross and Diane Emerson. He is survived by: his wife Lucy; his children, Michael Jr., Dwayne, Garit (Christina) and Jessica Nelson (Dave Jr.); his grandchildren, Cody, Aubrie, Christian, Averie, Ainsley, David III and Jillian; and his sister Linda Crilley (Mark). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
