With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Doreen Burrell of Royal Oak, Michigan, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on March 31, 2023 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, George Cooney and Evelyn Cooney; her siblings, Kathleen Cooney Brielmaier, Michael Cooney, John, Colleen, Joan, MaryJo, Patrick and James; her husband Robert H. Burrell; her children, Robert (Tony), Deborah, Denise (Kevin), James (Sandee) and Danny Burrell; her grandchildren, Heather, Lyon (Tatiana), Angèle, Jason (Koya), Nicole (Jonathon), Shawn (Shannan), Natalie (Alexi), Olivia (Johnson), Stephanie (Nathan), Kellie (Tyler), Bryan and Jamie (Jeff); her great grandchildren, Mariah, Garrod, Ashley, Mathew, Daunte, Alexis, Jake, Mya, Owen, Alice and Marlow; and her great great grandchildren, Braelyn, Daniel, Aries and Leilani.

The family will receive visitors at the L.J. Griffin Funeral Home, Northrop-Sassaman Chapel, 19091 Northville Road (at 7 Mile Rd.), on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

A memorial donation may be sent in Doreen Burrell's name to Angela Hospice in Livonia, MI.
