He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Kolar and Donna Kolar. He is survived by: his wife JoAnn; his children, Bryan Kolar and Michelle Kolar; his grandchildren, Nichole Belanger (Paul) and Michael McNeil; his great grandchildren, Christopher Belanger, Katie Belanger and Elliott McNeil; and his brothers, Wayne Kolar (Becky) and Jim (Deb Kolar). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorials may be given to Coconino County Sheriff's Search and Rescue.
