He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald P. Byrnes and Margaret Heater-Fry; and his siblings, Larry Cutler, Steven, Dennis Byrnes and Ruth Sampson.
He is survived by: his wife Rose Byrnes; his children, April Phillips, Steve Byrnes (Lisa), Nick Byrnes (Christina) and Breanna Byrnes-Cook (Scott); his grandchildren, Heather Smith (Jacob), Felicia Ackley (Kevin), Ashley Huey (Jason), Josh Phillips (Lindsey), Elizabeth, Elle, Steven, Ava Byrnes and Lorelei Cook; his stepmother Barbara Byrnes; and his brothers, Paul Byrnes (Tammy) and Kevin Byrnes (Haley). He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sullivan and Son Funeral Directors-Royal Oak (705 W Eleven Mile Rd, Royal Oak, MI 48067). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
