He was predeceased by: his parents, George Vartanian and Rose Vartanian. He is survived by: his brother Gary Vartanian (Virginia); his nieces, Jennifer Gillett and Melissa Mikaelian (Vache); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Hailey, Spencer, Kapriel and Jivan. He is also survived by his many cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations are to St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church.

“I've enjoyed some of the best Armenian music performances in the world with Greg over the past 50 years. Whether it was during a local Detroit event or an out of town KEFF Greg was always in the center of it all. He will be greatly missed by us all at future gigs. Whether it was during a solo or watching the traditional Chapter Dance Displays we would just look at each other in awe and nod as words were not necessary. Good Bye Greg TAFFY”
