He was predeceased by: his parents, Harter Smith and Lillian Smith; and his wife JoAnne. He is survived by: his children, Jim Smith (Denise) and Shelley Bancroft (Ben). He is also survived by his kids, grandkids, and close friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 23rd 2026 at 2:00 PM, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, April 24th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, April 24th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Clawson (1368 N Crooks Rd, Clawson, MI 48017).
