He was predeceased by : his parents, Clyde Paulus and Dolly Paulus (Pincombe); his sister Lonnie Miller; and his grandson Jaisen Lee Joseph Cornwell. He is survived by : his wife Sally Paulus; his son Gary Tennant (Christina); his grandchildren, Kathleen (Adam) and Noah; his children, Nathaniel, Elizabeth, Samantha, Johanna of Ahuano and Bradley Tennant; his grandchild Jordan of Pickford, Michigan; his daughter Jennifer Bennett (John); his grandchildren, Crystyn (Grant), Adelinne, CJ (Jada), Cole, Jennica and Corey; his children, Jennesa of Hessel, Michigan and John Tennant (Kara); his grandchildren, Casey, Anna, Destiny and Timmy of Pickford; and his siblings, Beverly "Jeanie" McCreery (Mike), Harvey Tennant (Noreen), Bill Tennant, Becky Tennant and Lydia Westfelt. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews and cousins.
