He was predeceased by: his parents, Gustav Helpap and Lydia Helpap (Miller). He is survived by: his children, Jason Helpap, Brian Helpap (Anna) and Jennifer "Jen" Dawson (Rob); his grandchildren, Lydia Helpap, Imogene, Elliot and Emmett Dawson; and his siblings, William "Bill" Helpap (Roberta) and Thomas "Tom" Helpap (Karen).
