He is survived by : his spouse Rae; his close friend TaeTae; his children, Maurice Griffin, Billy McLaren (Christine), Robert McLaren (Amanda), Meshon Griffin, Alicia McLaren and Jacquelyn Patrick (Brian); his grandchildren, Ashley, Michael, TaeVion, Teyonna, Taniyah, Eric, Breonna " Midget" of Michigan, Destiny, Herlinda, Mariah, Christopher, Jeremy "Lil Man" Carmelo, Rihanna and Robert Jr. "Buddy"; his great grandchildren, TaeVion Jr. (TJ), Jayce (Jay), Tae'lor, Talayah, Kaycen, Armond, D'Varea, Heaven, Adrianne and Carter; his siblings, Mary (Michael) and Charles Patilla (Margret); his mother-in-law Ruth Douglas; his siblings-in-law, Penny Maxwell, William, Steve and Daniel McLaren; his goddaughter Nyeisha Dawkins; and his close friends, Ira Jackson and Bobby Lowrey.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the United Missionary Baptist Church (4290 Lamson St, Saginaw, MI 48601). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
