With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Bernice Dix in Saginaw, Michigan, born in Natchez, Mississippi, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Horace Sanders and Luvinia Mason; her husband William; her brothers, Alex Hawkins, Willie Sherman and Lee C. Sherman; and her grandchildren, Thaao Abraham and E'Mari Collins.
She is survived by: her children, Brent C. Collins, Jr. (Jacqueline), Antoine D. Collins, Tracy R. Collins (David) and Sherry E. Collins-Liddell (Goliday); her sister Beatrice Chapman; her grandchildren, Tequila Traore (Youba), Will Collins (Ashley), Brent C. Collins III, Desmond Collins, Esmond Collins, Tory Collins, Brittany Collins, Antoine D. Collins, Jr. (Whitney), Brooke Liddell, Nolan E. Ford, Joshua N. Ford and Sherry Teosha Collins; her great grandchildren, Bless'N Collins, Carter James Collins, E'Cari Collins, E'Mory Collins, E'Shawn Collins, Reazon Collins and Demond Collins; and her grandchildren, Joshua Ford, Jr., Jaeonna Ford, Joi Ford and Bobbie Wardford-Collins. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Corinthian Baptist Church (104 S 10th St, Saginaw, MI 48601). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
She lived a beautiful life according to I Corinthians 13:13 which states in part, "And now faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is love.".
