Crystal Lynn LaPorte, born on July 31, 1984, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the loving parents Jon and Terri (Zuellig) LaPorte, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, at Medi-Lodge of Sterling. Crystal's life was a tapestry of love, creativity, and service, woven with the threads of family, friendship, and community.
Growing up in a warm and nurturing environment, Crystal was the cherished sister of Cameron (Sara) Sayers, Trisha (Arthur) Bardin, and Jon LaPorte Jr. She graduated from Pinconning Area High School in the Class of 2002, where she formed bonds that would last a lifetime. Crystal's infectious smile and generous spirit made her a beloved figure, not just within her family, but also throughout her community.
Crystal's professional journey was marked by her role as a salesclerk at various area stores. She took immense pleasure in serving customers, often going above and beyond to ensure their satisfaction. Her colleagues admired her for her dedication and her ability to bring joy into every interaction.
An embodiment of love and thoughtfulness, Crystal's interests reflected her appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. She was an avid crafter, often found at bazaars with her latest creations. Her love for nature was evident in her beautiful garden, a testament to her nurturing touch. Baking was another passion of Crystal's, and her family and friends could always count on her for delicious treats that were made with love.
Crystal's best friends, Amber, Stacey, Terra, and Cody, were her confidants and partners in adventure. Together, they shared countless memories that are now treasured keepsakes of the heart. Her nieces and nephews, Tyler (Emma) Zinke, Katlynn Zinke, Maya Bardin, Logan Sayers, Hayden Sayers, and Kellyn Sayers, were the light of her life. She reveled in their accomplishments and milestones, always there with support and a listening ear.
She was also a cherished niece to her uncles and aunts, Jeff (Kathleen) Zuellig, Raymond Zuellig, Shirley (Dean) Ulman, Sherry (Doug) Lang, Julie LaPorte, and Stephanie (Mahar) Alsalah. Each held a special place in her heart, and she in theirs.
Crystal was preceded in death by her beloved father, Jon LaPorte Sr. His memory and spirit continued to guide her throughout her life, and now they are reunited in peace. To know Crystal was to know a person of creativity and light. She approached every day with an upbeat attitude, always ready to spread love and kindness. Her legacy is one of compassion and joy, and she will be remembered for the warmth she brought into this world.
Crystal Lynn LaPorte's life was a celebration of beauty that can be found in everyday moments. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, yet her spirit will continue to inspire us to live with love, to create with passion, and to cherish the sunshine of family and friendship.
A Celebration of Life will be announced with location and date. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the family's wishes for a memorial garden for Crystal's Memory care of Terri LaPorte.
