Daniel P. Galonska Obituary
Daniel Patrick Galonska, 70, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025. Born on March 29, 1955, in Saginaw, Dan was a devoted husband, proud father and grandfather, loving brother, and loyal friend to many.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Lorraine Galonska, his children Joshua (Slimmy) Galonska (Casie Hartley), Ashley Datzko (Kevin), and his cherished grandchildren Tyler Wieland (Emily) and Lexis Wieland (Shane Marsh). Dan also leaves behind his siblings Mary Ann Miklovic, Tom Galonska (Kelly), and Rick Galonska, as well as sister-in-law Judy Galonska and many treasured nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Mary Galonska; his brother Joe Galonska, infant sister LuAnn; brother in-law Randy Miklovic; in-laws Chet and Albina Jeska, sister-in-law Geraldine Marshall and brother-in-law Eugene Jeska.
Dan proudly dedicated 49 years of hard work and loyalty to General Motors. He was known for his strong work ethic and equally strong sense of humor—he could make anyone laugh, and his wit will be dearly missed.
A man of simple pleasures, Dan found joy in golfing with his son and close friends, cheering on his favorite teams from the chair, scratching off lottery tickets, and spending time at the casino. He was an ace at darts and pool in his younger years, and always up for a good laugh or a friendly competition. His pets—Gabby, Sofia, and Jake—were a constant source of comfort and companionship. More recently, Dan treasured peaceful days at his summer home in Au Gres.
He was the kind of person who could light up a room with a joke and never passed up the chance to share a laugh. His warmth, humor, and deep love for his family will never be forgotten.
A celebration of Dan's life will be held July 19, 2025 from 2pm-5pm at Camp Fish Tales in Pinconning. Friends and loved ones will gather to remember his legacy and the joy he brought into their lives.
