Donna C. Pierson Obituary
Donna C. Pierson, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, at Covenant Health Source in Saginaw. Born on October 29, 1933, in Standish Twp., Donna was the cherished daughter of the late Edmund and Mamie (Reno) Trombley. She grew up on the family homestead, a place that instilled in her the values of hard work and devotion to family.
Donna's life was one of partnership and shared dreams. On September 1, 1951, she married the love of her life, William "Bill" Pierson, in a ceremony in Standish. Their union was a testament to enduring love and mutual respect. Together, they navigated the joys and challenges of life until Bill's passing in 2008. Their legacy continued through their children, Susan (Ron) Foco, William "Bud" (Mina) Pierson, and Deborah (Gilbert) LaFave, who were blessed to call her mother. Donna's love multiplied with the arrival of each of her 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy.
Donna's siblings, Karen (Gene) Viola, Jean (Gary) Courier, Gary (Cindy) Trombley, Ronald Trombley, and Bernice LaLonde, along with brother-in-laws Frank Boike and Larry Foco, will remember her for her spirited nature and boundless generosity. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Lynn Foco, Barbara Boike, and Verna Ann Bechum, Edsel & Edie Trombley, Edmund "Slip" & Cecelia Trombley and brother-in-laws, Raymond LaLonde Sr. and Virgil Byrnes and a sister-in-law Dottie Trombley. Each family member played a special role in her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Donna was the cornerstone of City Sewer Cleaners in Flint, where she worked alongside Bill as owner and operator for 55 years. Her dedication to the business was matched only by her commitment to her family and community. Donna's work ethic and involvement in the business were a testament to her character, and she was respected by all who knew her.
Those who knew Donna would describe her as loving, selfless, and spirited. She approached life with a warm heart and a giving spirit, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her presence was a comfort, and her guidance a gift that will continue to influence those she loved.
Donna's life was a journey of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to those she held dear. As we say goodbye, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. Her spirit will live on through the stories shared, the gardens she nurtured, and the family she adored.
Honoring her wishes cremation has taken place and inurnment will be at Pine River Cemetery.
