He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Hoppe and Emilia Hoppe (Ruppel); his wife Alta Petzold; his daughter-in-law Verla Hoppe; and his siblings, Elmer, Don, Charles "Dave" Hoppe, Betty Petzold, June Taylor, Helen Koch and Esther Morley.
He is survived by: his sons, Gary Hoppe, Dennis Hoppe (Kathleen) and Ron Hoppe (Ann); his grandchildren, Douglas Hoppe (Stephanie), Russell Hoppe (Heather), Sheila Hoppe, Jennifer Kolky (Brad), Michael Hoppe (Danielle) and Taryn Christopher (Adam); his great grandchildren, Taylor Hoppe, Zachary Hoppe, Michael Hoppe, Paisley Hoppe, Harper Hoppe, Carleigh Hoppe, Claire Kolky, McKenzie Christopher, Brock Christopher, Jack and Ethan Angst; his brothers, John Hoppe, Carl Hoppe (Janice) and Ernest Hoppe; and his sister-in-law Dorothy Platt (Ken).
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Peace Lutheran Church (3427 Adams Ave, Saginaw, MI 48602). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
