He was predeceased by: his parents, Meek Steward and Edna Rosetta Steward; his niece Michelle R. Barnes; his sister Ida C Steward Martin; and his sons, Ronald Gaddy, Ketrick Turner and Tony Steward.
He is survived by: his brothers, Michael Steward (Sonja) of Mobile and Marshall Steward (Josie) of Kosciusko, Mississippi; his children, Steven Gaddy (Norma), Curtis Johnson (Ellen), Sharon Johnson and Cynthia Johnson; his niece Shemeeka Steward; his great-nephews, Kahreem O'Shea and Jamal Amani; his close friend Sam Murrell; and his cousins, Kimberly Jordan, Melvin Thompson, Bessie Mae Vanross and Cozy Smith. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
