She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Eleanor (Theisen) and Earl Julius Winters; and her husband Daniel Ticknor. She is survived by: her children, Franky Yeager and Emily Holty (Yeager); her children-in-law, Kristin Yeager and Richard Beyers; and her grandchildren, Alexander, Hunter Yeager, Saeda Holty, Ryan, Christian and Mary Beyers (Michael McClure).

Joan continued serving others through her 29-year career with the American Cancer Society.
