We announce the death of John T. Hoffmann of Saginaw, Michigan, who passed away on October 24, 2026, at the age of 93. John will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Hoffmann and Glennie Hoffmann (Magdanz); his former wife Lois Schrader; his niece Jody Hoffmann; and his stepgrandson Adam Sheltraw.
He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Shubitowski (Messing); his children, Mark Hoffmann (Kathy), Melinda Hoffmann, Marie Anschuetz (Tom) and Matthew Hoffmann; his stepchildren, Becky Stowell, Brian Shubitowski (Jackie), Yvonne Strawa (Tony), Pamela Shubitowski, Lisa Shubitowski, Peter Shubitowski (Irene) and Martin Shubitowski (Darlene); his grandchildren, Jami (Nick), Theresa (Brian), Bridgette (Casey), Stacy (Matt), Heidi, Allyson, Kelsey (Travis), Mackenzie (Ryan), Patrick (Tracy), Brian (Jackie), Roan, Alex, Theo, Remy, Erin (Ramsey), Jeanine and Megan; his great grandchildren, Landon, Hailey, Parker, Gavyn, Corbyn, Abigail, Nehemiah, Naomi, Jackson, Adelyn, Carter, Paisley, Oliver, Carson, Oakleigh, Avery, Laker, Joshua (Taylor), Brianne, Sarah, Amy (Eric), Allison, Mark (Charlotte), Max and Vida; his great great grandchildren, Oliver Omri, Nico, Jaxon and Walker; his brother James Hoffmann (Sandy); and his nephews, Jeff and Scott (John).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 11th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church (545 7th St, Freeland, MI 48623). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
