Joshua Alan Garrett Obituary

Joshua A. GarrettSaginaw, MichiganJoshua Alan Garrett, age 34, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on July 9, 2026. He was born on October 14, 1991, in Bay City, Michigan, and throughout his life he was known by those who loved him as a loving, funny, and kind man whose presence brought comfort and warmth to everyone around him.

Joshua was a beloved son, brother, family member, and friend whose gentle spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was the kind of person who could brighten a room simply by walking into it, and he carried himself with a kindness that made others feel welcome, valued, and cared for. To his family and friends, he was like a big ole' teddy bear, full of love, loyalty, and a tenderness that made him deeply cherished.

He is survived by his father, James Rickett; his sister, Joyce Garrett; and many aunts and uncles, cousins, a nephew Carson Lopez and nieces Brooklyn and Jordan Schwartz who will forever hold his memory close. He also leaves behind his special friends, Melly and Kevin Near, who shared in his life and knew the depth of his friendship and good heart. Joshua was preceded in death by his mother, Toni Garrett, and by his grandparents, Karloyn (Frank) Hawn, James Goodnight, and Tom Maggart, all of whom surely welcomed him with love.

Joshua's life was marked by the simple but powerful ways he cared for others. He was loving in his words, funny in his spirit, and kind in his actions. Those who knew him will remember his easy smile, his warm nature, and the way he could bring laughter and comfort even in difficult moments. He had a way of making people feel at ease, and his genuine heart was one of his greatest gifts.

In his free time, Joshua enjoyed gaming, especially Spyder, and it was one of the things that brought him enjoyment and relaxation. His interests reflected a side of him that appreciated both fun and connection, and those moments of joy will remain part of the memories shared by the people who loved him. Whether spending time with family, friends, or simply enjoying the things he liked most, Joshua lived in a way that reflected his caring and approachable nature.

Joshua was deeply loved, and his passing leaves a space that cannot be filled. Though his time here was far too short, the love he gave and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him. His family and friends will remember him not only for who he was, but for the comfort, laughter, and love he brought into their lives.

Funeral service will be on Saturday July 18, 2026 at 6pm with Pastor Karen Obran presiding with a private committal service at later date. Visitation will be on Saturday from 12 noon till time of service.
