Jurgen Meyrer Obituary

Jurgen Meyrer, age 85, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on September 12, 2026. He was born on February 7, 1941, in Idar-Oberstein, Germany, and lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a warm, generous spirit that touched all who knew him.

Jurgen was a man who could do just about anything with his hands. He was known as handy, kind, and friendly, and those qualities showed in the way he approached both his work and his relationships. He retired from Euclid Tool after years of dedicated service, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and dependable nature. Outside of work, he was a true jack of all trades, someone who took pride in building, fixing, and creating. Whether he was working on a project, spending time outdoors, or lending a helping hand, Jurgen brought patience, skill, and care to everything he did.

He enjoyed camping and found peace in the simple pleasures of life. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing with his brother Manfred, a tradition that brought him joy and lasting memories. He also loved visiting with his neighbor Danny Miller and his wife Candi, whom he cared for deeply and loved like a son. These friendships were important to him, and he valued the time spent sharing stories, laughter, and companionship.

Above all, Jurgen was a devoted family man. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and his family brought great meaning and happiness to his life. He is survived by his daughters, Carmen Acevedo and her husband Eric, Corina Vlassis and her husband Nick, and Cornelia Mettner; by six grandchildren; and by seven great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brothers, Gudrun Janken and Siqrun McHone. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ericka Meyrer, as well as by a brother and a sister.
